Using the Web Serial API to Connect

Hmm... I'm planning to connect the scale to the web this time. But there's a problem here...
Previously, I used https://www.sollae.co.kr/ko/products/cse-b63n2.php.
But the problem was that older, outdated scales didn't support this feature(?).
I couldn't tell whether the issue was with the product or the scale.

Also, thinking about it... if I connected the scale over Ethernet like that and had the backend communicate with it, an external port would have to be open.
But that raised the problem that there might be environments where external ports aren't open.
So, I'm going to use the COM port to communicate via the Web Serial API. (I plan to build the communication based on the extension I was working on last time.)
That's why I'm writing this post now. (I'm writing it as I work, so I can leave a record.)
Am I writing an actual post for the first time in a while...?
chrome://flags/#enable-experimental-web-platform-features
You have to enable the above feature. (In regular and dev modes.)
Ah... but something seems a little strange... It shows up in dev mode and Chrome Canary mode too...
In regular mode, I turned on that option, but it still doesn't show up!!
Why could that be...
Searching...

While searching, I found this... Whoa~~
I found the following information below...

chrome://device-log/?refresh=1

The difference between Canary and regular Chrome: Canary automatically adds Serial device added, but regular Chrome didn't add it automatically.

However, both browsers detected the scale's serial port, called USB-Serial Controller D.
I was able to run browser tests on the site above.
All three browsers detected it over USB, but only regular Chrome was missing the serial port.
For now, since there's so little content about this, I posted an issue in WICG/serial.

I think I'll continue the post after seeing whether I get a reply.
