It was my first time visiting the IKEA Gwangmyeong store, and it was much bigger and better laid out than I expected. The showroom setup, with complementary products arranged together, seemed to make everything easier to notice and look more attractive.
Maybe that’s why it did make me want to buy things.

Since IKEA sells items like dressers, which are quite large, it turned out that you have to go find them in the warehouse.
For a moment, I felt like I’d become an IKEA employee too... lol

At first, I wondered if it might be hard to find things because the place was so big, but it wasn’t that enormous, so it wasn’t too bad.
This idea came to me before I realized there was an app, but whether by QR code or by scanning the product with the app, it could be temporarily added to a shopping cart or somewhere else,
and when you enter the warehouse, at least the locations of the products you scanned via QR could be shown on a map.
I actually took photos of several products, and there were far more people there than I expected. When I tried to find the products, I ended up going back and forth and walking around in circles in the same places.
Having to spend time just looking for things is a bit...
If there were a map listing the scanned products and providing a route that connects nearby items,
I feel like it would be much easier to find the locations of the scanned products.
And since there was an app, I installed it, and there was something like a scan feature. (It didn’t seem to work at the Gwangmyeong store, though.)
Anyway, while the showroom had a relaxed atmosphere where you could browse at your leisure, the warehouse had an atmosphere of people loading all those items onto their carts, going back and forth, and wandering around in confusion.
I hope they improve it in the future.
I heard one is also opening in the Gangdong area in 2024, so I’ll have to go there once it opens =)
