When I was using GCP, I installed and used Litespeed. It was fast, and it also had the advantage of automatically compressing images when I uploaded them.
But after moving to CentOS 8, I just installed WordPress and used that. When I used it with Cloudflare, it seemed to have a little more delay than I expected.
So I tried using Litespeed to take advantage of its caching, but the biggest problem was that... I couldn't get it to install properly on CentOS 8. I tried configuring it manually, but the main issue was that Litespeed itself seemed to be used in a similar way to nginx.
The problem that came up was that it seems Traefik and Litespeed can't be used at the same time.
Litespeed needs ports 80 and 443 opened, but Traefik is already using them, and Traefik needs to route traffic to the Litespeed service...
I couldn't get that to work..
(I'm not skilled enough.)
So, in any case, it was a failure.
I'd still like to set it up, but I figured it would take a long time to do all the work manually, figure everything out, and make the necessary changes, so I'll just give up for now and try again when I have some time later.
So I installed W3 Total Cache. When I bought this theme, its documentation recommended installing it, so I installed at least that.
After installing it, it actually seems to have improved the speed a little.

Anyway, I wanted to speed up the blog, but I failed to install Litespeed, so I installed W3 Total Cache instead..
I'll definitely try again next time and see if I can get it working... Still, having Docker is really convenient: one of its huge advantages is that I can switch services on and off right away for testing without even backing them up..
