Was it today...? While Laracon was underway, I think they also revealed some of the Livewire v2 features...

So, that evening, a laracon channel was created on Discord like this...
Of course, I hadn't bought a Laracon ticket, so I couldn't watch it...

When I woke up in the morning, the details had been posted on Twitter.

Wow... It looks like they're adding features that I thought were inconvenient!

It seems like deferred binding... Because of this, there was a problem using it with regular form inputs, rather than select or search inputs. Usually, you make changes to inputs quickly on a PC... but since there's a delay with this binding, if you type something before the response comes back, the input you were typing in gets reset. (- _-!!)

But with the feature above, it seems like we can solve this by using real-time binding only where it's needed.
(Honestly, part of the reason is that I use Livewire for almost all my forms, but looking at other users' showcases, it seemed like they used Livewire components only in the areas where they needed them.)

And the second feature I'm looking forward to is...

It says that you can use model properties as they are. This was more work than you'd think: I had to create a new collect and solve it with a kind of makeshift workaround... But with this, I think we'll be able to use the regular approach instead of a workaround.

And apparently, new convenient features are coming to Alpine.js and Livewire, too... Let's check out the rest of the features through the Twitter post above...

I also wrote a post calling it a game changer... and tried using Livewire, but maybe because it was v1... it felt very unfinished... Still, I definitely experienced the advantages of using Livewire.
Livewire paired with Alpine.js is especially a perfect match... but while using it, I felt that Livewire's features were more lacking than I expected.

But Livewire is going to keep improving even more... so I think it's worth looking forward to Livewire v2. But if v2 comes out... will I have to change everything I've worked on..? (ㅠㅠ)

It's supposed to be released on the day Laravel 8 comes out. (September 8)

I'm looking forward to Laravel 8, and to Livewire v2.
